Around Town in Miranda, Colombia

miranda-32

While we were in Colombia we spent some time in a beautiful town in the foothills called Miranda. Miranda is the town closest to where the Redeeming Grounds farmers live and also the home of their partner church. We felt so blessed and honored to be shown around their city and meet so many incredible people who are driving the RG mission forward.

As we walked around town I snapped a few photos of Miranda so you all could get a feel for this vibrant city that has unfortunately seen far too much violence under the control of the FARC over the past few decades. We are excited about what the Redeeming Grounds team is doing to restore this community and empower the local farmers – especially after seeing their work first hand.

A beautiful city, right? The Department of State is not currently recommending tourism to this particular area of Colombia, but you can have a piece of it right in your home! How? You can buy their coffee and support a community stepping out against the FARC and the coca production. Also, these farmers grow phenomenal coffee and it’s roasted to order. Convinced yet?

Really though, we feel so incredibly honored to have spent time with the Redeeming Grounds team and to be able to help share their story. Viva Colombia.

  2. Thank you so much for showing us around. Oppression of any kind is abhorrent to me and these people have suffered enough. Living in constant fear is not much of a life. Good to see all the smiling faces and normalcy and beauty you have captured.
