Assateague Island 2015

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weather forecast for our weekend on Assateague Island this year. It was literally 75 degrees and sunny with a nice breeze each day that we were there and we spent all of our time outside enjoying it. Some of you may remember that Dave’s family has been camping on the island for about 40 years now, so Dave has memories of camping here almost every year of his life so far.  It’s such a fun family tradition and I love that living in Washington, DC makes it easy for us to continue the tradition.

In years past I have enjoyed shooting photos all day because the island is just so darn photogenic, however, this year I enjoyed not having to worry about shooting. (professional photographer problems) I did take out my camera for about 30 minutes at sunset one night and made sure to document the kiddos enjoying the island since their mom couldn’t be there this year.  (she is busy being 8 months pregnant with their new little brother) We were missing Dave’s brother, Chris as well and looking at last years photos made me excited to have everyone + Dan and Rebekah’s newest little there next year!

Over all I enjoyed the break from social media, the city, and life in general and loved being around family. Having such a beautiful weekend made me want to camp all summer long!

And one last shot of this guy who had a 5 year old and 2 year old by himself tent camping for 3 days! Way to go Dan!
