International Museum Day 2014

Did you know that International Museum Day is this weekend? That’s right, it’s May 18th. As a former history major, you know I love that holiday. We will be away this weekend camping, but I got a chance to visit a couple museums today with our friends Stephen and Kate who are visiting DC from Portland. The Smithsonian museums are one of my favorite things about Washington, DC. They’re great …

The Washington Monument Reopens!

The Washington Monument reopened yesterday after being closed for a few years for repairs from the 2011 earthquake. We are so happy to see the scaffolding gone and the DC skyline back to its usual glory. (I kind of miss how the scaffolding lit up at night though- I’ll be honest) Our friend Jordan stood in line for us yesterday morning to get tickets to ride to the top of …

Colombia – According to our Iphones

If you haven’t already been able to tell, we had such a great time with the Redeeming Grounds team in Colombia. We had such a great balance of work, building relationships, and play while taking photos and filming – just the way we like to work on projects! Just in case you didn’t get a chance to follow us on Instagram, or even if you did, I thought I would …

Haunted Jail Tour – Charleston, SC

Have you ever been on a Ghost Tour? We have noticed a lot of haunted, historic tours advertised around the South’s oldest cities and my family has checked a few of them out over the past few years. Cinco de Mayo

Being on the road the past few weeks has made blogging consistently a little harder, but I am up for the challenge! I promise I will get some more ‘substantial’ …

One ‘touristy’ destination that we visited was the National Coffee Park which is located in Montenegro, Colombia. This area of the country is known for its beautiful coffee plantations and, of course, the world famous Colombian coffee that they produce. These plantations are …

Easter with our Parents

We just returned from a relaxing weekend celebrating Easter with our families in Pittsburgh. My parents drove up from Charleston for the weekend and my youngest sister, Alyssa, drive in from Ohio too. It was so wonderful to have both of our parents in the same place for a holiday! What a blessing it is to have parents who are friends. We enjoyed shopping at the outlet mall, cosmic bowling, dying …

Happy Easter

And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead …
