International Museum Day 2014

Did you know that International Museum Day is this weekend? That’s right, it’s May 18th. As a former history major, you know I love that holiday. We will be away this weekend camping, but I got a chance to visit a couple museums today with our friends Stephen and Kate who are visiting DC from Portland. The Smithsonian museums are one of my favorite things about Washington, DC. They’re great …

The Washington Monument Reopens!

The Washington Monument reopened yesterday after being closed for a few years for repairs from the 2011 earthquake. We are so happy to see the scaffolding gone and the DC skyline back to its usual glory. (I kind of miss how the scaffolding lit up at night though- I’ll be honest) Our friend Jordan stood in line for us yesterday morning to get tickets to ride to the top of …

In order to continue to build all of our excitement for spring I decided to post some Street Style photos that I took last May with Sarah of Fashion & Philosophers. Fashion & Philosophers is a fashion and culture blog based …

Work & Faith

Work & Faith is a National Community Church gathering of professionals on Capitol Hill who meet once a month to dialog about faith in the workplace. Our good friend Susan leads the group and does an amazing job! Erica and I have become regular attenders and always enjoy the early morning coffee, bagels, and  conversation. We’d definitely recommend it for anyone in the DC area looking for a good networking …

Joe & Jeanyne : Washington, DC Engagement Session

I spent some time this weekend with the lovely Joe and Jeanyne over in Eastern Market for their engagement session. They are an adorable couple who met while working in Guatemala. How cool is that? It was 25 degrees the morning of our session but I am pretty sure the wind chill made feel significantly colder. They were such troopers as we took photos without coats on though! We started …
