Dave and I went for a long walk through the cherry blossoms this morning before work. We did this last year during peak bloom and enjoyed it so much we decided to make it a tradition. The cherry blossoms really do live up to all of hype – the pink trees truly are breathtaking. We walked through the National Mall at golden hour and sipped coffee as we strolled through the flowers. I think this may be one of the best ways to start a day. I often hear people say that they wish the cherry blossoms would last longer, but I think the fact that they only last for a few days is part of their magic. We may just have to go a head and go tomorrow morning too…

There were people all over the place. Painting, taking photos, getting engagement photos taken, etc.

DC friends – Go see the cherry blossoms over the next few days! Yes, the crowds are a little crazy, but it’s so worth it!

PS – I might have dropped my lens cap into the Tidal Basin while shooting these photos. Dave might have just walked away from me. A tourist might have snapped a branch off a small tree to fish it out for me. Dave might have come around and eventually laid on his stomach to fish out said lens cap. Whoops.
