During our anniversary ‘staycation’, Dave and I drove over to Great Falls National Park for some afternoon walks. We were pleasantly surprised at how close this beautiful park is to Washington DC – it only took us a half hour to drive there! We went to the park with idea that we would just stroll and explore the park, but after spending time there we decided we would love to come back sometime this summer to hike, see the locks, or try out their adorable bike share program. We spent a large part of the afternoon walking down the trail in the photo below.
Can you believe we have a National Park like this so close to a huge metropolitan area? Me either.
Dave graciously lugged the camera around during our walks, so thanks for the photos, Dave! And in return, I lugged the water and snacks in my bag. Team work.
