Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to our wonderful Mothers! This year is a rare year that we both get to see our moms the week of Mother’s Day. Believe me, when you live far away from your family, seeing each other the same week of a holiday is just as exciting as the actual day! I spent the week with my parents visiting them in Charleston, SC and we will be meeting up with Dave’s parents to go camping this weekend in Assateague Island. Amazing, right?

This photo of my mom, my sister Emily, and I was taken when we were flower girls. I think I was around 7 years old.

Mom, Thank you for always being there for me, for driving me to thousands of practices and rehearsals, for teaching me to be creative, for driving me to the library at least once a week, for not being too mad when I inevitably lost all of those library books, for teaching me to be independent and go after our dreams, for modeling what it means to love your husband and children unconditionally,  and for never letting us leave the house with out a hug and an ‘I love you’.

Love you Mom! – Erica

This photo was taken by Dave’s father when Dave was just an infant.

Mom, Thank you for teaching me that everything is better homemade, for sitting through hundreds of games on uncomfortable bleachers, for getting out every grass stain and repairing every tear, for teaching me the value of hard work, for feeding and cleaning up after a house full of boys, for loving me when I didn’t always deserve it, for passing down a love of the arts, and for being such an amazing role model and mother.

I love you Mom! – Dave

I know we are technically a day late, but we love you both and feel so blessed to call you ‘mom’!

PS I need to make it a goal to scan more of our old photos so I have copies of them! I know there are many more gems tucked away in albums and boxes.
