Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day all! I love this holiday for many reasons – celebrating the incredible life of St. Patrick, commemorating my ancestors who came to the States from Donegal, Ireland during the Potato Famine, and also remembering our wonderful semester abroad in Ireland. Dave and I look back on our semester so fondly. We had such a great group of people living with us during the program and we could probably write an entire blog post full of ‘inside jokes’ -but I will spare the rest of you.

We love Ireland and would actually love to live there for a stretch at some point in our lives. It was during this semester that I realized I wanted to begin learning more about photography and I remember trying to figure out all of the settings on my little point and shoot. I was especially proud of turing off my flash and using the macro settings. We all have to start somewhere. These photos are by no means phenomenal pieces of art, but they are dear to my heart. Will you indulge in my nostalgia today with some photos from our trip back in 2008?

***This post is also going to serve as a call to action: Back up your photos!! These photos are small and grainy because I do not have the originals due to a hard drive failure. Go back up your photos!

I just want to jump inside these photos and escape the snow storm in DC today!

And just for fun, a couple of snap shots of Dave and I in Ireland circa 2008. 185_508540604056_1976_n 204_508708203186_4977_n

  1. Love the tour! Ireland is sooo beautiful! I’ll make sure I get myself there when I visit the UK again. Happy St Patrick’s Day. You two look great.
