When we left the states in June we didn’t have a concrete plan for where we would be traveling – with the exception of Uganda and Kenya. Why those two countries? Our whole idea of traveling for the summer began with the proposition of working on media assets for two incredible organizations and the rest of the trip evolved from there. One of those organizations was Sole Hope.
Sole Hope was founded by Dru & Asher Collie to fight the problem of jiggers, a parasitic sand-flea that attaches to feet, and they now have over twenty Ugandan staff helping them. Their staff immediately made us feel like part of the family and we couldn’t be more grateful for their super-human hospitality and newfound friendship. I feel overwhelmed trying to explain all that Sole Hope does in one blog post – but luckily I don’t have to! The Sole Hope story is on Bittersweet Monthly right now! (including the photos and video we shot while in Uganda) The photos in this post are all from the story – Go check it out HERE
